The Bea Pickles – Is It Live? Or Is It The Bea Pickles
Dionysus Records – ID074551 [1993]
No Sleep Tonight – Well, Dang! / Frazzled – Don’t Let Me Down
The Bea Pickles were an American psychobilly trio consisting of Angie Boothroyd on guitar and vocals, Gator McKinley on double bass, and Hermann Sennac (formerly of Blood on the Saddle and the Loafin’ Hyenas) on drums. The only recorded evidence of the band’s existence is a four-track EP, recorded live in December 1992 for Dionysus Records.
The band’s wild psychobilly sound falls somewhere between that of the early Quakes and Dypsomaniaxe, with a touch of cow-punk.
Following the band’s breakup, Angie swapped her guitar for a double bass and joined Helen Shadow and Mark Robertson (of The Meteors) in The Queen B’s.
