Brioles – Love, Rhythm & Hate

El Toro Records [2009]
Show Me – Voodoo Bop – Pegado a Ti – Too Drunk For Your Love – Demasiado – She’s Bad – Try My Love – I’m Gonna Ride – Love That Gal – Nana Para Una Pesadilla – Madhouse – It’s Only Make Believe – La Casa – How To Cry – Bop Pills

Formed in 1986, the Brioles can now be seen as veterans of the Spanish rockin’ scene.Their latest output show that they haven’t lost their power. Often described as psychobilly – which they were at their debut – they’ve evolved into a 21st century version of 50’s rock’n’roll with powerful guitar and slap bass and mean vocal. All the songs but two (Conway Twitty’s It’s Only Make Believe and Macy Skipper’s Bop Pills) are originals written by singer/guitarist Jorge Nunes and some are sung in Spanish. It’s very well done and most of all original.
